Yes! this is absolutely true! There are lot of Apps missing, No Snapchat, official app of Instagram sucks, Facebook Universal App is still in beta, Twitter app for phone missing lot of features and what not! But Windows is one such platform where some 3rd party Apps outshines the official Apps, for ex: 6Tag a 3rd party instagram client is arguably the best insta App on any platform. Facebook has already announced that they are bringing Universal Apps of Facebook and Instagram to the windows, infact Universal Apps created a momentum in Windows community, here is the App by Propellerhead (Creators of popular Digital Audo Workstation 'Reason') called "Figure" which enables the users to create music on the go without prior musical knowledge, the same App is available on PC.

All I can suggest is fix your priorities, do you want to use snapchat, instagram or trendy Apps like Dubsmash? want App updates to be available quickly? do you use Google services? Then you should get Android!
