My only career plan was to work at McKinsey, but I was rejected. What should I do now?

Everyone I work with is ex McKinsey. The people here have already provided some great advice. Brad and Valery in particular. As some background I was head of the consulting club when I got my masters in the UK, although ended up taking a more senior finance position rather than go consulting.
I won't repeat what they said, but I will be honest with you. Your best hope by far is to network your way in and prepare like crazy for the case interviews. I can't overstate the power of networking. Even my non McKinsey friends got incredible jobs at top firms because they met the right people while trying to network their way to McKinsey. In fact this is how I met my current boss.
In America it is common to reach out to alumni of your school, although I know less so in the UK. Still worth a shot, especially if you can find Americans in your network who view it as a more normal practice.
Otherwise it doesn't sound like you have a particular direction. If your marks are good enough see if someone will provide you with a scholarship to study for your MSc. It's a great time to practice, make a bigger network and be more strategic about trying to get into one of the MBB firms.
